Ducati Build Story | Part 6. We are back with the last issue of this 'Ducati Build Story' series of blogs. The Kaspeed Moto 'Modern Cafe Racer'-Ducati got incredible feedback from everyone. Ducati Umbau-Story | Teil 6. Heute mit der letzten Ausgabe unserer 'Ducati Umbau-Story'. Das Beste kommt bekanntlich zum Schluss und so waren wir sehr stolz, mit einigen aufregenden Artikeln, in einschlägig bekannten Branchenmagazinen vertreten zu sein! HOT SHOT - "Kaspeed-Ducati 750SS: Verwandlung einer angegrauten Duc in eine bildschöne Fahrmaschine" So lautet die Überschrift des Artikels in der November/Dezember-Ausgabe (2017) des MO Motorrad-Magazin.

Ducati Build Story | Part 5. After finishing the Ducati 750SS 'Modern Cafe Racer', the presentation weekend was soon to come. But before that, we still had to prepare a lot of furniture and other kit for our booth. Two platforms and a desk were build from scratch, we organised racks, lights, decoration and a folding pop up tent. Then it was time to pack up, put the bikes on a trailer and head south to Leonberg near Stuttgart.

Ducati Umbau-Story | Teil 5. Unsere Ducati 750SS 'Modern Cafe Racer' ist pünktlich fertig geworden und bereit zur Präsentation. Vor dem großen Tag bzw. Wochenende hatten wir noch einige Dinge vorzubereiten. Es mussten zwei Podeste für die Motorräder, sowie ein Tresen gebaut werden. Außerdem Organisierten wir Werbeartikel, Banner, Ständer, Beleuchtung, Deko und ein Faltzelt. Dann konnte es los gehen. Sachen packen, die Bikes auf den Anhänger und ab Richtung Süden

Ducati Build Story | Part 4. Now it's finally time for a new layer of paint! The frame got it's original color and the engine received a metallic charcoal grey. For the bodywork it obviously had to be a red shade for our Ducati. We wanted to keep the paint scheme simple to let the shapes speak. The paint is finished in Rosso Fuoco (fire-red) which is a sophisticated three-layer paint from Ferrari.

Ducati Umbau-Story | Teil 4. Jetzt wird es Zeit für eine neue Schicht Lack. Der Rahmen bekam die Oiginalfarbe, der Motor ein dunkles Anthrazitgrau. Für Frontverkleidung, Tank und Höcker muss es für unsere Ducati natürlich Rot sein. Die Lackierung des Motorrads haben wir bewusst einfach gehalten, um die Formen sprechen zu lassen, statt von ihnen abzulenken. Die von uns gewählte Farbe ist Rosso Fuoco (Feuerrot) aus dem Hause Ferrari...

Ducati Build Story | Part 3. This time we work on adapting the front fairing and also fit the single seat we built last time. Besides that, work also began on the electronics and wiring. To incorporate the 'Modern Classic' style on all ends of the bike, we found a distinct front fairing with Moto Guzzi Le Mans resemblance, that was shaped to fit right in.

Ducati Umbau-Story | Teil 3. Dieses Mal beschäftigen wir uns mit der Anpassung der Frontverkleidung und Sitzbank. Außerdem startet die Elektrik und Verkabelung am Motorrad. Wir wollten einen nahtlosen Übergang zwischen Front und Heck schaffen – von der Kanzel bis zum Höcker. Vorn angefangen haben wir eine Verkleidung im Moto Guzzi Le Mans Stil genutzt und diese so gestaltet, dass sie den klassischen Racer-Look unterstützt.

Ducati Build Story | Part 2. Let's dive right in to the first major modifications and fabrication tasks! It all started with the rear frame. It was tightend, shortend and simplified to achieve a slim look. We cut the lower tube and made a new connection to the upper one by welding in a bend and a new, inclining section. Then connected both sides with a single, slightly curved, back tube, creating sharper than usual corner radii.

Ducati Umbau-Story | Teil 2. Wir legen sofort mit dem ersten Veränderungen los. Es muss vieles umgebaut und angefertigt werden. Zu erst wurde der Heckrahmen großzügig geändert. Wir haben ihn verschmälert, gekürzt und im hinteren Bereich auf eine Strebe reduziert. Dazu wurde das untere Rahmenrohr gekürzt und mit einem Bogen and das obere angefügt. Beide Seiten haben wir dann mit einem leicht gekrümmten Mittelbogen verbunden, in das anschließend noch das Rücklicht eingelassen wurde.
